We moderators of SWC do not make the teams. They are formed by the racers of a like-minded set in our group on Ravelry.

Yes a team is necessary. If you’d like to just race on your own, no points, then you would enter Team Solo, and you MUST post a note on the group thread, stating:…”I want to race solo.”
